DRIVER VACANCY – DEPARTMENT OF WATER AND SANITATION

 Salary: R170 226 per annum (Level 03)

REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 10
• 0–3 years’ experience in driver/messenger services
• Valid driver’s licence
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently, in a team, and under pressure
• Basic literacy (reading and writing)
• Willingness to travel and work irregular hours
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act

DUTIES:

• Operate and maintain light motor vehicles
• Maintain vehicle logbooks
• Store and safeguard vehicles
• Collect and deliver official documents
• Transport officials to and from various destinations
• Conduct vehicle inspections
• Take vehicles for servicing and repairs
• Keep records of fuel, oil receipts and other administrative documents
• Assist with loading and offloading goods
• Transport school children when required
• Keep vehicles clean and in good condition
